For anyone who is interested, the book by autistic author Temple Grandin, 'The Autistic Brain', is an incredible read. She has particiapted in a number of neurological mapping and imaging studies and these have shown how the physical attributes of her brain can be directly related to how her autistic characteristics manifest. Temple places great emphasis on the fact that different does not mean less; that every person has their strengths, every brain is different and that while a disability may negatively affect one area of the brain it does not mean the rest is useless.
